Sasol champions Banyana Banyana’s road to Rio

Sasol today launched a national heroes campaign to celebrate and support Sasol Banyana Banyana’s as the team prepares for the Rio Olympics 2016 in Brazil.

For the past nine years, Sasol has been the proud sponsor and supporter of the national senior women’s soccer team, and a strong advocate for the development of women’s sports in South Africa.

“As a company, Sasol is very proud of Sasol Banyana Banyana’s achievement in qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Working in partnership with the South African Football Association (SAFA) to development women soccer in South Africa since 2009, it has truly been incredible to be part of the team’s milestones over the years,” says Maurice Radebe, Sasol Executive Vice President: Energy Business.

“As Sasol, we wish our national senior women’s soccer team all the best as it prepares for Rio, and would like to encourage the rest of the country to rally behind the players,” he adds.

Launched today, the Heroes campaign aims to rally South Africans to support Banyana Banyana by demonstrating and leveraging on the unifying effect on sports.

The campaign will be executed across multiple platforms across the country, and will also entail features such as Five-asides…. It’s all about supporting our national women soccer heroes, which Banyana Banyana players are to thousands of emerging soccer players and fans across the country.

“I’m confident that the team will put on a great show at the upcoming Olympic Games.”
